A simple device designed to provide support and stability to the wrist designed for the treatment of ulna sided wrist pain.

Understanding Wrist Injuries
Wrist pain can stem from various causes including, following traumatic fractures, the result of repetitive strain injuries, systemic and degenerative arthritis, as well as weight lifting and fitness related training. Wrist injuries can result from trauma or overuse. Regardless of the cause, preventing further injury and managing wrist pain is crucial for overall well-being.

Common Causes of Wrist Pain

  • Trauma: Accidents like falls and sports-related trauma causing sprains and strains, and fractures common causes of wrist pain.
  • Repetitive overload: Activities that involve repetitive wrist movements. Such as the use of handheld tools in trades, or DIY endeavors. Including racquet sports and fitness training, lifting weights all potentially lead to strain and overuse injuries.
  • Arthritis: Degenerative conditions like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis can affect the wrist joint. These conditions commonly cause stiffness, swelling and pain.

Importance of wrist supports like our TFCC Splint

Proper wrist support can assist in managing pain, promoting healing, while preventing further injury. Wristwidget style splints offer a supportive solution by assisting in stabilising the wrist joint.

What is a TFCC Splint?

Our TFCC splint is a supportive device worn around the wrist. The purpose of the TFCC splint is to provide stability and relief from pain and discomfort in the ulna side of the wrist. Developed with specifically targeting the TFCC area without causing restriction to hand and wrist movement. Comes with two versatile velcro straps, mean the wearer can increase and decrease the compression/pressure when and where needed.

How Does it Work?

In our experience TFCC injuries prove to be crippling for many patients. Often preventing them from completing even basic activities of daily living. When wearing a WristWidget style splint, you provide your injured wrist with targeted compression. Compression that instantly helps to relieve pain, providing the stability you need. Experience instant relief from wrist pain with our splint. If you have been diagnosed with a Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex injury and suffer ulnar-sided wrist pain. Then our TFCC Splint may be right for you, and provide pain relief as well as wrist support.

The splint works by specifically supporting range of motion of the wrist joint. This helps reduce load on injured tissues, promoting recovery. Providing external support, helping alleviate pain and discomfort. Allowing individuals to continue to engage in their daily activities with both ease and comfort.

Improved Functionality: With reduced pain and increased stability. Individuals can perform their daily activities more comfortably and efficiently wearing their splint.

Choosing A TFCC Splint

When selecting to purchase a our TFCC splint consider the following factors:

  • Severity and nature of the wrist injury, or condition. Including location of pain and painful actions. This splint is specifically suitable for ulna sided wrist pain.
  • Comfort and fit of the brace must be right. If it isn’t comfortable then our physio team typically find that patients won’t consistently wear it. And the brace can’t work if it is sitting in your cupboard.
  • Material and design impacts comfort, durability and situations where it can be worn.
  • Ease of use and adjustability – Dual straps provide an individualized fit as wrists vary greatly in size and conformation. A one size fits most situation.

Proper Fit and Sizing:

Ensure that the splint fits snugly. Snug but comfortably around the wrist, therefore providing adequate support without restricting blood flow, or causing discomfort. The dual straps of our TFCC splint provide an individualized suitable fit for most wrists. Without any compression of the ulnar head, which is the key component to comfortable use.
