Upper Back Pain Physiotherapy

Upper Back Pain Physiotherapy at Sydney Physio Clinic

The thoracic spine consists of a series of vertebrae, discs, muscles, ligaments, as well as rib articulations arising from the body of each thoracic vertebrae. Upper back pain physio is about treating this area of the spine know as the thoracic spine. Pain can originate because of stress, or injury to any of these aforementioned structures. As well as originating locally, pain in the upper back can be referred from neighboring tissues. Upper back pain of neck and shoulder origin is relatively common. Referred pain into the upper back from the neck and shoulder typically “send” the pain in and around the shoulder blade.

Although not as common as suffering low back pain, or neck pain. Complaints of the thoracic spine that can benefit from having upper back pain physio treatment are still relatively common. At Sydney Physio Clinic, we treat many patients who complain of upper back pain. Sustained sedentary postures in office roles are a common trigger for patients experiencing stiffness, or tightness in their thoracic spine.
