By making your shoe more rigid, and providing comparable support to a Post Op shoe.  The insole immobilizes the mid foot and toe joints, helping prevent bending during walking or running. This allows faster recovery for individuals and athletes by providing support to the injured foot, used in recovery from a variety of injuries including turf toe, chronic foot injuries, metatarsal stress fractures, arthritis pain and broken toes.

In some situations they enable the wearer to transition out of a post op shoe, or moon boot quicker following injury by providing comparable stiffness to the forefoot. Use of carbon fiber insoles as a transition from, or alternative to a Moon Boot or Post Op Shoe should always be under the guidance of your treating practitioner.
