Post-Surgery Seat Belt Cushion for Comfortable Travel

The Post-Surgery Seat Belt Cushion provides a soft padded layer between your vehicle seat belt and sensitive areas following surgery.

Travelling in a car can feel uncomfortable during recovery when a seat belt sits across a sensitive area of the chest or abdomen. This compact cushion attaches directly around the seat belt, providing additional padding without requiring a bulky conventional pillow.

It may be useful following breast or chest surgery, C-section, hysterectomy, abdominal surgery and selected cardiac procedures where additional cushioning around the seat belt is desired.

Soft Three-Section Padded Design

The cushion measures approximately 36 × 17 cm and is divided into three padded sections. This provides a broad cushioned surface while allowing the cushion to sit comfortably along the seat belt.

The soft fleece outer fabric provides a comfortable contact surface against clothing, while the internal padding creates an additional layer between the body and the seat belt.

Seat Belt Cushion After Breast Surgery

Following a mastectomy, lumpectomy, breast reconstruction or other breast and chest procedures, the position of a vehicle seat belt may feel uncomfortable across a sensitive surgical area.

The cushion can be positioned along the shoulder portion of the seat belt to provide additional padding where required.

Recovery following breast surgery varies considerably. Always follow the advice provided by your surgeon or treating health professional regarding travel, driving and post-operative precautions.

C-Section, Hysterectomy and Abdominal Surgery

The Post-Surgery Seat Belt Cushion may also be positioned lower along the seat belt following a C-section, hysterectomy or other abdominal procedure.

The two fastening points allow the cushion to be repositioned along the belt depending on where additional cushioning feels most comfortable.

Heart Surgery and Pacemaker Procedures

Some people may also prefer additional cushioning between the seat belt and chest following heart surgery or procedures such as pacemaker implantation.

There can be specific precautions following cardiac procedures. Follow your medical team’s advice regarding driving, travelling and pressure around the surgical area.

Two Simple Seat Belt Fastenings

Two hook-and-loop fastening points wrap around the seat belt to help hold the cushion in position.

The cushion can be attached quickly and repositioned along the belt according to where additional padding is required.

For more thorough cleaning, gently hand wash using cool or lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Avoid vigorous scrubbing, twisting or wringing the padded sections.

Gently press out excess water, reshape the cushion if required and allow it to air dry completely before use.

Avoid bleach, tumble drying and high heat. Gentle cleaning is recommended to help preserve the padding and shape of the cushion.

I have been treated by Chelsea, Paolo and Hayden. I can say without doubt all three are great at what they do. The latest episode I got some dry needling and mobilisations which was very effective in helping me with my neck spasm.

They also practice with their hands doing manual therapy techniques which is getting rare in Sydney, Australia.
