Inner Thigh Trainer for Adductor Strengthening
The Inner Thigh Trainer is an adjustable resistance exercise device designed for strengthening the hip adductor muscles on the inside of the thighs.
Compact and easy to use at home, the trainer provides resistance as the legs are squeezed together. Adjustable resistance allows the exercise difficulty to be modified as strength and exercise tolerance improve.
This model also includes an easy-to-read digital exercise counter and a visual effort indicator, providing simple feedback while you exercise.
Strengthen the Inner Thigh and Hip Adductor Muscles
The adductor muscle group runs along the inside of the thigh and helps control movement of the hip and leg.
These muscles contribute to hip stability and are involved in activities including walking, running, changing direction and many sporting movements.
The Inner Thigh Trainer provides a convenient way to perform resisted hip adduction exercises by squeezing the padded arms of the trainer together using the thighs.
Adjustable Resistance
The resistance can be adjusted to suit different exercise levels. This allows you to begin at a comfortable resistance and progressively increase the exercise difficulty as strength improves.
Rather than relying on a single fixed resistance, the adjustable mechanism makes the trainer suitable for a wider range of home exercise and strengthening programs.
Visual Feedback During Exercise
A useful feature of this trainer is the built-in visual effort indicator. As pressure is applied to the trainer, the needle moves through the marked exercise zones.
This provides an easy-to-see indication of the relative effort being applied during each repetition and can be useful when trying to perform controlled, consistent squeezes.
The effort indicator is intended as a general visual exercise guide rather than a calibrated measurement of muscle strength or force.
Easy-to-Read Digital Exercise Counter
A built-in digital display helps you keep track of your exercise session and repetitions.
This can be particularly useful when completing a structured home exercise program involving a prescribed number of repetitions or sets.
Comfortable Contoured Thigh Pads
The trainer features comfortable contoured teardrop-shaped thigh pads with non-slip contact surfaces. The broad padded areas sit against the inside of the thighs while performing resisted exercises.
The angle of the pads can also be changed to suit different exercise positions. Loosen the pad fitting, rotate the pad to the desired position and securely retighten it before beginning your exercise.

How to Use the Inner Thigh Trainer
Choose a comfortable resistance setting and position the padded supports against the inside of your thighs.
Slowly squeeze your thighs together against the resistance of the trainer. Perform the movement in a controlled manner before gradually returning towards the starting position.
The visual effort indicator can provide simple feedback during each squeeze, while the digital display can help you keep track of your exercise session.
Start with a resistance that allows you to maintain good control and technique. Resistance, repetitions and exercise position can then be progressed according to your individual exercise program.
Can an Inner Thigh Trainer Be Used for Pelvic Floor Exercise?
The pelvic floor does not work completely in isolation. Depending on the movement being performed, pelvic floor muscle activity may occur alongside muscles around the hips, abdomen and pelvis.
For some people, hip adductor exercises may therefore be incorporated into a broader pelvic floor strengthening or rehabilitation program.
However, squeezing an Inner Thigh Trainer is not the same as performing an isolated pelvic floor contraction or Kegel exercise. It should not be assumed that strengthening the inner thighs will automatically strengthen the pelvic floor.
If your primary goal is pelvic floor rehabilitation, exercises should be selected according to your individual pelvic floor function and symptoms.
Looking for a Pelvic Floor Trainer?
If your exercise program is specifically focused on pelvic floor training, our Pelvic Floor & Inner Thigh Trainer provides an alternative option with interchangeable resistance springs, additional tension adjustment and freely swivelling thigh pads.
You can also read our pelvic floor exercise guides to learn more about Kegel exercises, pelvic floor strengthening and when individual assessment may be appropriate.
Pelvic Floor Exercises Are Individual
Pelvic floor strengthening is not appropriate for everyone. Some people experiencing pelvic symptoms may have muscles that are overactive or have difficulty relaxing rather than simply being weak.
If you experience pelvic pain, pain during intercourse, difficulty emptying your bladder or bowel, or other persistent pelvic symptoms, consider having an individual assessment before beginning a pelvic floor strengthening program.
Use as Part of a Rehabilitation Program
The Inner Thigh Trainer can be used as a convenient home exercise tool or incorporated into an individually prescribed rehabilitation program.
Depending on the reason for strengthening, rehabilitation may also involve hip strengthening, trunk exercises, balance and functional exercises, gradual return to activity or specific pelvic floor exercises.
Our physiotherapists can help determine whether resisted hip adduction exercises are appropriate for your individual exercise or rehabilitation program.
