Telescopic ROM Knee Brace for Controlled Knee Rehabilitation
The Telescopic ROM Knee Brace is a high-stability rehabilitation brace designed for situations where controlled knee movement is particularly important. Its long adjustable frame, locking range-of-motion hinges and secure strapping provide greater control of the knee following significant ligament injury, joint instability or surgery.
Unlike a standard hinged knee support, a ROM (Range of Motion) knee brace allows knee flexion and extension to be restricted according to the requirements of your rehabilitation program. This can help protect healing structures while allowing movement to be gradually progressed as recovery advances.
When Is a Telescopic ROM Knee Brace Used?
A long-frame ROM brace may be recommended when greater knee stability and more precise control of movement are required. Depending on the injury and advice of your treating practitioner, it may be considered for:
- Moderate to high-grade MCL injuries
- ACL, PCL and LCL injuries
- Multi-ligament knee injuries
- Significant knee instability
- Meniscal injuries where controlled movement has been recommended
- Post-operative knee rehabilitation

Precise Range of Motion Control
The adjustable locking hinges allow the permitted range of knee movement to be individually controlled during rehabilitation.
- Extension adjustment: -10° to 30°
- Flexion adjustment: -10° to 120°
This allows flexion and extension limits to be set according to the requirements of your injury, surgery and stage of rehabilitation. As recovery progresses, the permitted range can be adjusted under the guidance of your surgeon, physiotherapist or treating practitioner.
The longer telescopic frame is particularly useful when stricter ROM control is required. By extending further above and below the knee than a shorter fabric-based hinged brace, it provides greater leverage and stability to help maintain the selected movement limits.
Long Telescopic Frame for Greater Stability
The brace length can be adjusted from approximately 47 cm to 66 cm using the telescopic frame. This allows the thigh and lower-leg sections to be adapted to the individual while maintaining substantial support above and below the knee.
The long-frame construction provides a higher level of stability than shorter hinged knee supports and makes this brace particularly suited to rehabilitation where controlling knee movement takes priority over unrestricted everyday mobility.
Universal Adjustable Fit
The Telescopic ROM Knee Brace features an adjustable universal design and can be fitted to either leg.

- Calf circumference: up to approximately 48 cm
- Adjustable brace length: approximately 47–66 cm
- Fit: Universal – suitable for left or right knee
Multiple adjustable straps allow the brace to be secured around the thigh and lower leg and readjusted as required during rehabilitation.
Adjustable Air Comfort Pads
The brace includes two inflatable air pads and a small hand pump. The pads can be positioned around the inside of the knee hinge area and inflated as required to help accommodate differences in knee shape, fill small gaps between the brace and leg, and improve individual fit and comfort.
The amount of inflation can be adjusted to suit the individual. These pads are an optional fitting and comfort feature and are not required for the ROM locking mechanism to function.
Optional Shoulder Suspension Strap
A removable shoulder suspension strap is also included with the brace. This can provide additional suspension when required and may help reduce the brace sliding down the leg during wear.
The shoulder strap is an optional feature and does not replace correct fitting and adjustment of the main leg straps.

Which ROM Knee Brace Should I Choose?
Choose the Telescopic ROM Knee Brace when the priority is greater stability and stricter control of knee flexion and extension. Its longer adjustable frame provides increased leverage above and below the knee, making it the more appropriate option when maintaining prescribed ROM limits is particularly important.
The Neenca Adjustable Hinged Knee Brace also provides genuine adjustable locking ROM control. However, its shorter hinged frame and fabric-based construction provide greater functional mobility. This can make the Neenca a more practical option for lower-grade injuries or stages of rehabilitation where some additional movement is appropriate.
Neither design is automatically the better choice for every knee injury. The appropriate level of support depends on the injured structures, severity of injury, stage of rehabilitation and the amount of movement your treating practitioner wants to allow.
How to Fit and Use a ROM Knee Brace
The brace should be fitted securely so the hinges sit appropriately alongside the knee joint and the straps hold the frame comfortably against the leg. The telescopic length can then be adjusted to suit the individual’s leg length.
Once correctly fitted, the flexion and extension settings can be adjusted according to the ROM restrictions prescribed for your rehabilitation.
If specific movement restrictions have been prescribed following surgery or significant injury, the brace should be set according to the instructions provided by your surgeon, physiotherapist or treating practitioner.
Progressing Range of Motion During Rehabilitation
ROM restrictions commonly change as rehabilitation progresses. The adjustable hinge system allows the permitted range of knee movement to be altered without requiring a different brace.
Do not independently increase your permitted knee range following surgery or a significant ligament injury simply because the knee feels more comfortable. Changes to ROM restrictions should follow the rehabilitation plan provided by your treating practitioner.
